Tutor Town bases material grade level and subject requirements. That way, we can ensure students are best prepared for exams and understand all required content. We emphasize a step-by-step approach to both written and exam questions. Students can expect to develop a methodical way of approaching any problem that is thrown their way.
Customized Education
Tutor Town curates all classes around our students, ensuring that no two classes are the same! Tutors will adapt their material to the learning styles, homework content, or academic pain-points of their students. We strive to provide our students with deep understandings of content as opposed to memorization and formulas.
Real World Applications
Tutor Town strives to make subjects both engaging and applicable for students. We get that students can feel a disconnect between school content and real life. However, real world applications are often fascinating and deserve our attention. Tutors will often integrate real world examples into class to build well-rounded approaches to learning.
Practice and Feedback
Research has proven that active recall is one of the most effective learning methods. We take this evidence-based approach to tutoring by teaching a methodical way of thinking and actively practicing it every class. Our tutors give instant individualized feedback targeted to the specific struggles a student would, could, and will face.
Homework and Assignments
Homework and assignment varies based on the instructor, grade and subject level, progression level, and the personal requests of our students. Typically, students can expect between 30 to 60 minutes of homework. We have additional review questions and packages for ambitious students looking to study more
Report Cards and Feedback
In addition to real time in-class feedback, our group classes provide written report cards at the end of the team to evaluate a student's progress. We also offer parent-tutor conferences so guardians can have a more involved and understanding position in their child's progress in class.
